The Clark County Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters, U.S., held a retirement party honoring Loraine (Boots) Fritz on Saturday night, February 11, 1978, held at the Meadowview County Club. The 7:30 dinner was attended by 52 members of the county postmasters, and also relatives and friends of the Fritz’s in the Owen-Withee area.

The program following dinner included introduction of guests, and a talk by Mr. Fritz telling of his experience in the post office. A cash gift was presented to him.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. James Nikolay, postmaster at Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. George Sorenson, Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wendt, Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Frane, Curtiss, and postmasters from Thorp, Granton, Willard and other surrounding post offices.

Families home for the weekend attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. Duane Klabon of Stevens Point, Lash Fritz of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Schultz of Deforest, and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fritz of Milwaukee.
