Mr. and Mrs. Leo Miller, route 1, Colby, announce the engagement of their daughter, Suzanne, to Joe K. Wirrer of Mattoon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wirrer.

Miss Miller is a 1972 graduate of Colby High School and attends NCTI at Wausau.

Her fiancé was graduated from Antigo High School in 1970 and attended NCTI in 1971. He is employed as a television technician at NCTI, and is a part time director of Channel 7 at Wausau, and deputy sheriff of Marathon County.

The wedding is set for October 27, 1973.

Miller, Suzanne (27 Oct 1973)

The Rev. John Ehlke of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mattoon, officiated at the double ring ceremony for Miss Suzanne Miller and Joseph K. Wirrer on Saturday, October 27, 1973.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo D. Miller, Colby, was given in marriage by her parents to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wirrer, Mattoon, during the 1:00 p.m. ceremony. Nuptial music was provided by Miss Ellen Buchberger, organist.

For her wedding the bride appeared before the altar in a formal Victorian gown fashioned with burgundy velvet skirt and a long sleeve beige nylon bodice trimmed with beige lace and burgundy bands. To complete her attire she wore a matching picture hat of burgundy nylon with velvet streamers, and she carried a crescent arrangement of cymbidium orchids, stephanotis and baby’s breath.

Her bridesmaid, Miss MarDee Wirrer, Mattoon, wore a forest green velvet gown trimmed with lace, and she carried a crescent bouquet of orange roses, white carnations and baby’s breath.

Gary Radunz, Wausau, was best man, while Jerry Thorpe and Jeff Radunz performed the ushering duties.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Keith Wirrer home in Mattoon, and the wedding dinner for immediate families was served at 4:00 p.m. at Chet and Emil’s Dining Room in Birnamwood.

The bride, a 1972 graduate of Colby High School, is a student at North Central Technical Institute, Wausau, and is employed as secretary at Modu-Line Windows, Inc. Her husband is a 1970 graduate of Antigo High School and graduated from N.C.T.I. in 1971 as Instructional Media Technician. He also works part time as director of Channel 7, T.V., and as deputy Sheriff of Marathon County.

The newlyweds will make their home at 1330 N. 9th Avenue, Randolph Courts, Wausau.
