The Rev. James Logan officiated at the Friday late afternoon, June 12, wedding rites for Kathleen Suzanne Bertz and Kenneth Roger Seehafer. The ceremony was held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Parents of the couple are Robert and Joan Bertz, 310 South St., Loyal; Shirley Seehafer, Marshfield; and Roger Seehafer, Spencer.

Maid of honor was Linda Hyman, a cousin of the bride from Beaufort, S.C. Bridesmaids were Jean Ayers, a cousin of the bride from Neillsville, and Sue Redetzke, a fiend of the bride from Marshfield. Junior bridesmaids were Sarah and Maxine Bertz, sisters of the bride from Loyal.

Serving as bestman was Randy Zschernitz, a friend of the groom from Stratford. He was joined by Jeffery Zschernitz, a friend, and Dan Seehafer, the groom’s brother, both of Marshfield. Ushering were Steve Seehafer, another of the groom’s brothers, and Dale Redetzke, a friend, also both of Marshfield.

Special music, in the form of a guitar and vocal, was offered by David Yonker.

The bride’s gown featured a sheer yoke with floral embroidery and chapel-length train. A fingertip veil with heirloom crown of orange blossoms was the headpiece work of orange blossoms was the headpiece worn by her great-great-grandmother at her 1880 wedding. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of pink roses, white daisies, stephanotis and baby’s breath.

The bride’s attendants wore gowns of polyester knit with chiffon blouson tops. Three of the attendants were in pink and two in blue. Each wore headpieces composed of pink, blue and white daisies. Each carried a basket of daisies and baby’s breath. The groom and his court were attired in light blue tuxedos.

Following the rites, a buffet was held in the church parlors, which was followed by a dance at the Loyal American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a Hawaiian wedding trip. They announced that they would be making their home at rural Marshfield.

The new Mrs. Seehafer is a graduate of Loyal High School and Mid-State Technical Institute at Wisconsin Rapids. Her husband is a graduate if Marshfield High School and also of Mid-State Tech. Both are employed at Land O’Lakes in Spencer, he as a mechanical draftsman.
