Riphenburg, Floyd C. (28 March 1913 – 7 June 1981)

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, June 10, for Floyd C. Riphenburg, 68, of Neillsville, who passed away after a lingering illness in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Sunday, June 7.

The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated. The special music for the service included “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art,” sung by Lori Anding and accompanied by Deon Spangler. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements which included burial in the Osseo Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bertie, Archie, Harvey and Duane Schultz, Walter Sester and Raymond McKimm.

The deceased was born on March 28, 1913, in Osseo to Hiram and Belle (Thompson) Riphenburg. He moved to the Town of York in Clark County with his parents as a young boy, where he received his education. He then farmed in the Humbird area for several years.

On May 5, 1943, he married Jeanette Holman in Neillsville ceremonies. The couple then lived in Chippewa Falls, where he worked for the Presto Corporation for many years. He later moved to the Racine area where he worked for J.I. Case until 1978, when he retired and moved to Neillsville.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. William (Elaine) Erickson of Racine and Mrs. John (Barbara) Radtke of Sturdivant; one son, Larry, Eau Claire; three sisters, Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Ehlers and Mrs. Mary Bliven, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. Harvey (Clara) Schultz, Hampshire, Ill.; one brother, Nathan, Neillsville; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma.

Attending from out of town were Mr./Mrs. E.D. Call, Racine; Lucille Hoback and Rita Conro, of Dekalb, Il.; Midge and Gary Dennis, New Berlin; Mr./Mrs. Harold Radke, St. Paul, Mn.; Mr./Mrs. Duane Schultz, Mr./Mrs. Harvey Schultz and Sandra, Danny and Lorie Stoll, all of Hampshire, Il.; Thomas Schultz, Elgin, Il.; plus many friends and relatives from the Osseo, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Marshfield areas.
