Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tyznik of Route 2, Colby, announce the engagement and coming marriage of their daughter, Debra Lynn, to David W. Ven Rooy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ven Rooy, Route 1, Colby.

Miss Tyznik is employed at Tombstone Pizza in Medford. Her fiancé is employed by Ruppert Construction in Colby.

An October 6, 1973 wedding is planned.

Debra Tyznik became the bride of David Ven Rooy in a nuptial ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, on Saturday, October 6, 1973. Father Francis Rushman officiated at the 1 p.m. service.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tyznik and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ven Rooy, Colby, are parents of the couple.

The bride appeared in a white satin peau de soie gown trimmed with lace and seed pearls in Juliet fashion, with an attached train. A Camelot headpiece with pearl and rhinestone trim held her floor length veil. She carried a crescent bouquet of red roses, carnations, lily of the valley, stephanotis and fern, featuring long satin streamers with tine red rosebuds. She presented their mother with a single long stemmed red rose.

Attendants of the couple were: Diane Brill, maid of honor, Tami Tyznik, Nancy Draeger, Diane Ven Rooy and Mrs. Karen Neuman, bridesmaids; Gene Orth, best man, and Brian Tyznik, Kenneth Ven Rooy, Darrell Kulas and Wayne Neuman, groomsmen. Randy Blair and Steve Tyznik were ushers.

Her attendants wore orange, emerald green, candy pink, aqua and lavender dresses of crepe, floor-length, featuring white lace collars and cuffs. Each carried a long stemmed rose with ribbons and bows the colar of their gowns.

Sister Louis Marie was organist and the school choir sang.

A reception and dance were held at the Abbotsford City Hall.

The groom is employed by Ruppert Construction, Colby, and bride at Tombstone Pizza, Medford. Both are Colby High School graduates.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan, the young couple will make their home at Abbotsford.
