Kinnick, Anita Lynne (9 May 1981)

Anita Lynne Kinnick of Waukesha and Wayne Anthony Wirkuty, also of Waukesha, were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, May 9, in Neillsville’s St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated. Parents of the couple are Charles and Marie Kinnick, Rt.4 Neillsville and Alvin and Alice Wirkuty, Waukesha.

Judy Jordahl, a friend of the couple from Neillsville, was maid of honor. She was joined by Wanda Kinnick, the bride’s sister from Neillsville. Bestman was Dave Jakubowski while Randy Rodriguez, both of Waukesha friends of the couple, served as the groom’s attendants. Ushering were Doug Kinnick, a brother of the bride, and Carl Nemitz, brother-in-law of the bride; both are from Neillsville.

“Oh, Perfect Love,” “The Wedding Song,” “God of Love” and “I Love You Truly” were the musical selections at the service and were offered by Kathy Johnson.

The bride chose a lace-trimmed and pearl and sequined gown of polyester organza, featuring a high neck, train and knee-length, traditional veil. She carried a bouquet of white mums, peach roses, baby’s breath, sprengeri ferns, blue statice, adorned by two tiny roses and two white streamers. The bride’s maid of honor wore a light blue, Victorian-styled light blue polyester knit gown with laced neck while the bridesmaid wore a similar gown of cotillion blue. They carried spring bouquets of yellow daisies, white pompoms, blue statice, baby’s breath, sprengeri fern adorned with blue ribbons. They also wore white mums and baby’s breath in their hair.

The groom and his attendants were attired in navy blue, tailed tuxedos.

Following the wedding ceremony, a reception and dance was held at the Neillsville Country Club. The couple announced that they would take their wedding trip at a later date.

Prenuptial events included a March 28 shower hosted by Barb Nemitz, Judy Jordahl and Wanda Kinnick; and a March 19 shower hosted by the York Center United Methodist Church.

The couple will make their home in Waukesha. The bride is a 1980 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed by Waukesha Industrial Supply. The groom is a 1979 graduate of Waukesha North High and is employed by Atlas Erectors Company of Waukesha.
