Nienow, Marie (7 Oct 1882 – 4 Jul 1973)

Mrs. Marie Nienow, 90, of Route 1, Edgar, died Wednesday, July 4, 1973 at the Colonia Manor Nursing Home in Wausau, where she had resided for the past eight years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mark Nicholous officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. Polnaszek Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Marie Bielke was born October 7, 1882 in Germany. She came to the United States at the age of 13 and settle in Sauk County. After her marriage to Fred Nienow on June 16, 1908, in Blackhawk, they moved to the Town of Frankfort in Marathon County. Mr. Nienow died in 1944.

Mrs. Nienow is survived by two sons, Fred of Spencer, and Herbert, Edgar; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
