Lewan, Emily (? – 10 Jun 1973)

Word has been received of the death of a former Colby resident, Mrs. Joseph (Emily) Lewan, of Chicago. She died June 10, 1973 in that city.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewan owned the Wayside Inn in Colby from 1949 to 1953. Mr. Lewan preceded his wife in death.

Funeral services were held June 13 in Chicago and burial was made at Concordia Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.

Survivors include four children, Mrs. Clifford (Evelyn) Empey, Sturgeon Bay, Mrs. Stanley (Emma) Palonis, Edward Tesarek and Mrs. Raymond (Irene) Lorin; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister.
