Rindfleisch, Walter (21 Sep 1897 – 11 Jun 1973)

Walter Rindfleisch, 76, of Colby, died Monday evening, June 11, 1973 at his home after a lingering illness. He had been in ill health for the past two years.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Rev. David Pankow will officiate. Burial will be made in the North Spencer (Trinity) Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby.

Mr. Rindfleisch was born September 21, 1897 in the town of Brighton. He received his education in the Spencer schools, and graduated from the dairy school course at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1919. He was married to Ella Stillman September 28, 1922 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vesper.

Until 1932 he was a cheese maker at the Dairy Belt Factory at Vesper. From 1932 to 1944 he was cheese maker at the Clover Valley Co-op east of Spencer, and in 1944 he purchased the Cloverdale Cheese Factory near Colby. After his retirement in 1961 he drove a school bus for the Colby school district for several years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale, Mayville; a daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Robert) Dott, Beaver Dame; two brothers, Ervin and William of Spencer; a sister, Hilda (Mrs. Arthur) Borman, Medford, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
