Lueck, Walter E. (25 May 1920 – 4 May 1981)

Walter E. Lueck, 60, a former employee of a Neillsville plumbing company, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Monday May 4. Lueck was a Marshfield resident at the time of his death.

Lueck was born on May 25, 1920, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Lueck in Clark County. He received his education in county schools, later working in Neillsville for many years with Warlum-Robinson Plumbing and Paul Harr Plumbing. During this time he married Erna M. Hagen Freezy in September 6, 1950, Elkader, Iowa, ceremonies.

In 1965, the couple moved to Marshfield, where he worked for Gaffney Plumbing and later for Wick Homes until retiring due to failing health.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are seven daughters, Mrs. Walter (Maureen) Wirkuty of Brownsville, Or., Mrs. James (Pauline) Johnson, Mrs. Roger (Georgia) Ziller and Robert (Pat) Parks, all three of Huntley, Il., Mrs. James (Nellie) Ekland of Burtons Bridge, Il., Mrs. Erick (Laynie) Heineck of Kingston, Il., and Mrs. Gloria Burnell of La Crosse; and five sons, Alan Freezy of Elgin, Il.; Dennis Freezy of Eau Claire, Ted Freezy of Spencer, Walter Lueck, Jr., of Marshfield and Bradley Lueck of Fort Ord, Ca.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Rosemarie) Norlin of Tomahawk, Mrs. Howard (Elaine) Heup of Appleton and Ruby of Milwaukee; a brother, Marvin, Rib Lake; 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday, May 7) at 11:00 a.m. from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. D.E. Sprague of the Assembly of God Church was to officiate with burial to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Sons and sons-in-law were to be selected as pallbearers. (The body was to lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5;00 to 9:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday morning until time of services.)
