Shumate, George (? - 19 March 1981)
George Shumate, Chicago, passed away on March 19 in a Chicago hospital after an
illness of three months.
The funeral, with the Rowland Funeral Home in charge, was held at St. Mary’s of
the Lake Church in Chicago. At the deceased’s request, it was a private service.
Shumate was born in Kirksville, Missouri and received his education there. He
married Mary Perushek of the Willard area in Chicago, where they lived until his
death.
Surviving, besides his wife, Mary, are a brother, Sam, and a sister, Myrtle, in
Missouri.
Attending the funeral was Frank Perushek, Willard, and Angie Schultz,
Neillsville.
