Hamann, Mary A. (2 June 1943 – 15 January 2022)

Mary A. Hamann, age 78, of rural Colby, was called home to be with her Creator on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Marshfield Health Services.

Mary was born on June 2, 1943, the daughter of Henry and Zeta Scheper in Marathon County. She was the younger sister to Dorothy (Scheper) Foltz and Helen (Scheper) Fisher. Mary graduated from Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph Hamann on December 6, 1969, at St. John’s (High Steeple) Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2014.

Ralph and Mary farmed in the Town of Frankfort. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, ice skating, roller skating, horseback riding, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Hamann of Wausau; her son, Dale Hamann of Stanley; three grandchildren: John, Eva and Claudia Bondgien. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Arabella Syring of Edgar; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; her grandson, Dwayne Hamann; daughter-in-law, Marie Hamann and brother-in-law, Wallace Hamann.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at St. John’s (High Steeple) Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Wien, Marathon County. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
