Gormanson, Elmer W. (18 October 1925 - 13 August 1980)

Funeral services for Elmer W. Gormanson, 54, of Rt. 4 Neillsville, were held on Saturday afternoon, August 16, from the Gesche Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiated with burial made in the Town of Weston Cemetery. Mr. Gormanson passed away in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, on Wednesday, August 13, after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born on October 18, 1925, in Menomonie, the son of Elmer and Edith (Bossman) Gormanson. After his education, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps in January 1945, and served in the south Pacific until early in 1947. He then returned to Menomonie where he worked until 1951, moving to Okauchee to be employed by International Harvester in Waukesha. He retired in September of 1979, due to failing health.

Germanson and his wife lived in the Globe area prior to his death. He was married to Betty Janke in October 27, 1956 in Menomonie ceremonies. He was a member of the VFW of Hartland.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are three sons, Gene and Keith, both of Wis. Rapids and William of Pewaukee; one daughter; Mrs. Ivan (Barbara) Lutz, Hokah, Mn.; his mother, Mrs. Edith Gormanson, Waukesha; one sister, Mrs. Alice Diffendoerfer, Waukesha; one brother Roy, Hartland; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Betty.
