Dolenski, Theresa (19 July 1980)

Theresa Dolenski and Dean Shambaugh were united in marriage during July 19 mid-afternoon services at Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Sam Kochel officiated. The bride and the groom entered the church together. Parents of the bride are Don and Rose Bryan, Rt. 2 Neillsville, and the groom’s parent is Cathy Shambaugh, Rt 3, Neillsville.

Jackie Polzin, a sister of the bride from Neillsville, was maid of honor. Joining her were Ellen Schmidt, a sister of the groom from Neillsville, Lind Redmond, a sister of the groom from Rockford, Ill.; Angie Schmidt, the groom’s niece from Neillsville, and Lind Dolenski, the bride’s sister from Neillsville.

Bestman was Dennis Oldham, a friend of the groom from Neillsville. He was joined by Wally Schmidt, the groom’s brother-in-law from Neillsville, Frankie Shambaugh, brother of the groom from Genesco, Ill.; Kenny Shambaugh, another brother of the groom from Atkinson, Ill.; and Patrick Schmidt, a nephew of the groom from Neillsville.

Jeff Harder, a friend of the groom from Neillsville, and Annette Meier, a cousin of the bride from Neillsville, were ushers. Carl Schmidt, the groom’s nephew, and April Bryan, the bride’s sister, were ring bearer and flower girl. Both are from Neillsville.

Special music at the service, “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” were offered by Angie Schmidt and Clay Anderegg.

The bride chose a sleeveless, satin gown with bodice lace and sheer over-skirt. She carried a bouquet of blue and yellow daisies and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore powder blue gowns of nylon and silk, and each carried a single white rose. The groom was attired in an all-blue tuxedo, his attendants wore light blue suits that were trimmed in a darker blue.

Following the ceremonies, a dinner was held in the church social room, which was followed by a reception at the Walter Schmidt home. Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Ellen Schmidt and Jackie Polzin.

The couple will make their home at Rt. 3 Neillsville. The new Mrs. Shambaugh is a 1980 graduate of Neillsville High School and is a housewife. Her husband is a 1976 graduate of the same school and is employed by the Neillsville Foundry.
