Gene Steele, Director of College Relations for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M), conducted a seminar November 15, 1974 for chemistry students at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, emphasizing employment opportunities in the corporation for science students. Attending were Terry Ganser of Prairie du Sac, Pat Eaton of Ellsworth, John Nied of Thorp, and Jeanine Czech of South St. Paul, and Dan McLaughlin of Antigo. Nied is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nied, route 2, Thorp.
