Eighth Graders from Thorp Elementary School took two of the three top places at
the Wisconsin Conservation and Environmental Awareness Speaking Contest held at
Neillsville October 26, 1974.
In the Junior division Turlena Schunk speaking on “Wildlife and the Balance of
Nature” place third; and Janet Morgan place second with a speech entitle “Enough
Today – What About Tomorrow?”; Kathryn Fravert place 1st, speaking on “Can We
Save Our Wildlife?”
