Hamilton, Charles V. (16 January 1946 – 31 December 2021) With Flag

Charles V. Hamilton, age 75 of Colby, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at the House of the Dove under Compassus Hospice.

Chuck was born on January 16, 1946, the son of Orvel and Mildred Hamilton in Ladysmith. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1964-68. On May 7, 2002, he was united in marriage to Gloria R. Drier at the Chapel of Love in Vegas. Chuck worked for Weathershield in Medford until retirement.

Being a Navy Vietnam Veteran, Chuck loved to march with the VFW in Parades. He loved sailing in the Navy especially the Philippines and enjoyed talking about places he visited all over the United States. He drove semi and loved to watch MASH.

Chuck is survived by his wife: Gloria; four children: Carmen Drier of Raeford, NC, Nicole (Trent) Dernbach of Rochester, MN, Craig (Ashley) Hamilton of Medford, and Heidi (Jonathan) Block of Colby; eight grandchildren: Allison, Marcus, Trey, Abby, Hailey, Corbin, Jamison, and Jemma; a sister: May Mueller of Albert Lea, MN; along with other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his four siblings: Marcella Joel, Charles, Edward Hamilton, and Leona Toon.

A Funeral Service will be held at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday January 6, 2022, with Father Joseph Redfern officiating. Friends and Family are welcome 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Military Honors provided by the Colby VFW Post #2227. Family and friends can watch the service live on the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home Facebook page or after the service anytime on Facebook or the website. Family requires those in attendance to wear a mask.
