Miss Bonita Ann Sebunia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Sebunia, Lublin, became the bride of John Jay Kanarowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kanarowski, Chicago, on Saturday, August 24, 1974 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin. Rev. Casimir Paul performed the two p.m. marriage ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore the traditional gown of silk a la mode and val lace with detachable chapel train was styled with a molded bodice of a la mode, on which the round sheer yoke of pearl beaded val lace was edged with a lace ruffle. The wedding band collar of lace was circled with narrow Venice braid, and the natural waistline was circled with a lace over satin belt, and was trimmed with pearl. The tapered sleeves had a ruffled cuff of the lace. The full skirt was fashioned of wide tiers of the ruffled lace. The train of a la mode was bordered with the val lace. The three tiered veil, with one layer edged with scalloped lace, secured to a lace tiara which was embroidered with pearls and trimmed with looped pearl motifs. The bride carried a colonial bouquet with red roses, white carnations and baby’s breath encircled in lace with white satin ribbon streamers.

Betty Lorenz was her sister’s matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Bernadette Sebunia, May Ann Kanarowski, Linda Kanarowski and Becky Lorenz was flower girl. They wore blue gowns styled sleeves polyester knit dresses with high neckline and A-line skirt. They had matching bolero jackets with a ruffle at the wrist of the long sleeves and at the edge of the jacket. They wore headpieces of fresh flower miniature blue and white carnations. Each carried a colonial bouquet with white and blue carnations and baby’s breath encircled in lace with blue satin ribbon streamers.

Attending the groom was Al Kanarowski as best man, and groomsmen were Stanley Kanarowski, Ray Kanarowski, Frank Kanarowski Sr., and Ray Kanarowski Jr. was ring bearers. Ushers were John Lorenz and Ed Celler.

A reception and dinner were held at the Quonset Hall, Thorp, where a dance followed.

The bride is a graduate of Gilman High School and the groom is employed by Hall’s Monuments, Inc. of Medford. They will make their home at Medford.
