Dahlke, Robert Henry “Bob” (6 November 1941 – 22 December 2021) With Flag

Robert (Bob) Henry Dahlke, age 80, died Wednesday, December 22, surrounded by family at St. Mary's Aspirus Hospital in Rhinelander.

He was born November 6, 1941, to Adeline (Lucas) and Henry Dahlke in Granton. He grew up the middle brother of three sons. He graduated from Granton High School in 1959.

On November 11, 1961, Bob married Judith Ott and they had five daughters. They later divorced but remained good friends.

On December 31, 1985, Bob married Evenda Olson, and he was blessed with an additional two daughters and two sons.

Bob worked in his younger years hauling milk for Lynn Dairy. When he was 17, he enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served from 1959 to 1963. Bob ran a small dairy farm in Granton for a short four years. He then began his career as a long-haul trucker owning and operating his own tractor trailer for 50 years retiring at 74. A couple of times Bob took a break from trucking, and he ran a Surge Dairy equipment business in Neillsville and ran the Gin Mill Bar and restaurant in Granton.

Bob loved his wife Evie and his nine children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His favorite place to be, was on Pike Lake in Lac du Flambeau at the cabin where he and Evie resided for many years. He worked, loved, and lived life to the fullest.

Bob will be dearly missed by his seven daughters and two sons. Lori (Lars) Ferrer of Eau Claire; Billi Sue (Russ) Fisher of Rhinelander; Renee (Kevin Hedlund) Merkel of Boyceville; Bobbi Jo (Pat) Wolf of Granton; Jerri Lynn (Chuck Bowman) Dutter of Bloomer; Greg Olson of Granton; Peggy Barak of Chili; Jill (Jon) Noble of Houlton; Jay (Lisa) Olson of Chili; 40 Grandchildren, 31 Great-Grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Thelma June (Ott) Schmitz of Neillsville; Doug and Carolyn Larsen of Willard; John and Marge Reigstad of Lac du Flambeau; Don Szuchnicki (Donski) of Webster, Florida; and many other friends through his lifetime.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Adeline, brothers Jim and Bill, his wife Evie and his first wife Judith (Ott-Dahlke) Smith.

Services will be held at Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, (W2840 Hill Rd, Granton, WI 54436). Visitation will be on Monday January 3rd at 1:00 P.M. Services will start at 3 P.M. and immediately after the service there will be a military salute. The Celebration of Life will continue at the Granton Community Center, 315 Maple Street, Granton, from 4-6:00 P.M.
