Domine, Shirley Ann (17 October 1937 – 11 December 2021)

Shirley Ann Domine, 84, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully at the House of the Dove, in Marshfield, on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Shirley Ann Rothamer was born on October 17, 1937, in Medford, the daughter of David P. and Hannah R. (Poehnlein) Rothamer. In her early years, she lived on a farm in Medford, until the family purchased another farm and moved to Loyal in 1952, when Shirley was 15. She attended Loyal High school from 1952-1955. Following high school, Shirley was united in marriage to Ronald Raymond Domine on February 17, 1955, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. After living in Janesville for a few years, Ron and Shirley moved back to Loyal and owned Domine Body Shop from 1960-1972. In 1972, they purchased the Chevrolet dealership in Loyal and it became Domine Chevrolet. Shirley was kept busy after marriage with cooking, gardening and taking care of the children, but she did find time to help her mother-in-law out at Helen’s Style Shop from 1958 to 1972. She also worked in the office at the dealership from 1972 to 2000.

During retirement, Ron and Shirley lived in many different places. They lived on Lake Holcombe, Sun City West in Arizona, Lake DuBay, and finally residing in Marshfield. She enjoyed living on a lake, boating, traveling, reading, loved going shopping, cooking and baking (she was a marvelous cook), gardening, going to breakfast with Ronnie, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, other family and many friends. One of her favorite things to do in her spare time was to watch the “old shows” on TV Land.

She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church while living in Loyal and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church while in Marshfield.

Shirley will be dearly missed by her children: Randy (Shelley) Domine of Marshfield, Mike (Dawn) Domine of Avondale, AZ, Kevin (Lisa) Domine of Wausau, Shelby (Todd) Schoonover of Wausau, Brian (Karrie) Domine of Phoenix, AZ, and Steve (Angie) Domine of Marshfield; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Gary Rothamer of Kenosha, Lee (JoAnne) Rothamer of Mosinee, Dale Rothamer of Marshfield, and Alan (Diane) Rothamer of River Falls; one sister-in-law: Marcie Rothamer of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; two grandchildren, Dustin and Holly Domine; one brother, Dennis Rothamer; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Rothamer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Scott Domine, Chad Domine, Will Domine, Max Gillette, Tyler Jasurda and Jared Boyle. Honorary pallbearer Skylar Domine. Visitation will be held at the church, on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
