Arciszewski, Nancy (23 Mar 1974)

On Saturday, March 23, 1974 at 1:30 p.m., Nancy Arciszewski and Tom Bogumill spoke their wedding vows in a ceremony performed by Father John Puerner at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Chapel, with guest minister, Reverend David Fuller of the Thorp United Methodist Church also participating. Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Arciszewski, route 1, Thorp, and Tom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayborne Bogumill, 211 Lawrence Street, Thorp.

Nancy and Tom were escorted down the aisle by their parents. Nancy wore a floor length white gown with an empire waist accented by a row of lace and blue ribbon. The draped neckline, long, straight sleeves, and flared skirt, all of georgette, contributed to the lovely simplicity of the gown. Her veil of bridal illusion was attached to a small pillbox headpiece and trailed behind in a short train. She carried a lovely bouquet of white roses, blue stephanotis and baby’s breath. Tom wore a Rhett Butler style tuxedo with a white jacket, trimmed in black, black pants and a boutonniere of blue stephanotis.

Mrs. Denny Meyer (Arlene), sister of the bride, Thorp, was matron of honor, and her escort, Peter Bogumill, brother of the groom of Chippewa Falls, was best man. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rave Rubisch (Sue), Thorp, Marilyn Tomandl, Marshfield, and Diane Koltis, thorp, all friends of the bride. Groomsmen were Dave Rubisch, Thorp, and Don Danielewicz, Thorp, friend of the groom, and John Bogumill, Thorp, brother of the groom.

The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore floor length gowns made by the bride, with flared skirts of blue and white checked double knit material, V-necklines and long, straight sleeves accented by white collar and cuffs. They carried nosegays of colored daisies and baby’s breath with whit velvet tubing streamers.

The groomsmen wore tuxedos similar to that of the groom, with blue carnation boutonnieres.

Judy Stroinski and Petty Ussel of Marshfield provided lovely music during the ceremony. They sang and played beautiful versions of “Never My Love”, “Colour My World”, “Love”, and “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Dennis Bogumill, brother of the groom, of Franklin Park, Illinois, and Denny Meyer, brother-in-law of the bride of Thorp, ushered at the wedding.

Following the ceremony a dinner and reception were held at the Thorp Legion Hall. Mrs. Ted Meyer (Rosalie) acted as hostess at the reception The “Polka Masters” provided the music to which all the guests enjoyed dancing.

After a wedding trip to the southern United States, the couple is residing at 211 W. Stanley Street, Thorp. Nancy will continue employment at the Thorp Care Center and Tom will remain employed as a salesman by the G and B Produce Company of Schofield.
