Berdal, Paula Jean (5 Oct 1974)

Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church, Lublin was the scene for the marriage of Paula Jean Berdal and Thomas Frank Dubiak on Saturday, October 5, 1974. Rev. Rodion Pfeiffer performed the two p.m. double ring marriage ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Berdal, Stanley, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dubiak, Lublin.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was seen in a floor length gown featuring a high neck, bishop sleeves and semi-full flounce floor length veil flowing from and open Venice Camelot. She carried salmon and yellow roses with white baby’s breath.

Betty Hodak, friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were: Debbie Berdal, sister of the bride, Sharon Dubiak, sister of the groom, and Karen Borek, friend of the bride. They wore shrimp colored knit gowns with large ivory collar and cuffs, with ivory picture hats with a long shrimp ribbon completing their ensemble. Each carried fall baskets made up of assorted mums in rust, gold, orange and yellow.

Lester Schiszik, cousin of the groom, was best man, and groomsmen were friends of the groom, Ray Tkachuk, Bob Schuler and Ron Borek. Ushers were Harry Berdal and Joe Dubiak.

A supper was held at the Quonset Hall, Thorp.

The bride attended Stanley-Boyd High School and District 1 Technical Institute, and is presently employed as a secretary with ITT Thorp. The groom attended Gilman High School and Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute, and is an electrician with Van Ert Electric.

After a wedding trip to South Dakota, they will make their home at 203 N. Lincoln St., Thorp.
