Sauer, Michael M. “Mike” (6 June 1954 – 2 December 2021)

Michael Marvin Sauer, age 67, from Thorp, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2021, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born June 6, 1954, in West Bend, to Arthur H Sauer and Annabelle (Hefter) Sauer and lived there his primary years until 1966 when he moved with his family to Thorp. He graduated from Thorp High School in 1972.

Farming was the priority in his life and promoting this career with his dad and brother was important to him. Many personal hours were spent scouting the neighborhoods and farm lands on drives observing the progress of local farmers and crops. He enjoyed woodworking creating handmade wonders for his family and friends. Cooking grew to be his next favorite specialty surprising others with his masterpiece dishes. He worked for several years attending to the needs of others as a caregiver in a home health care setting. Mike, as everyone knew him, had a kind heart. He valued and enjoyed many friendships along his journey of his lifetime. Here too in his card playing skills, especially Sheepshead, he took pleasure with family. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by many.

Mike is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Annabelle Sauer, and sister, Darlene Sauer, brothers-in-law, Dennis Hedler and Keith Raven, and niece, Julie Raven.

He is survived by his twin children, Cassandra Sauer, Grand View, and Marcus Sauer and granddaughter, Kennedy Sauer, Thorp, 3 Sisters, Carol Hedler ( Wasilla, AK), Patricia Raven Hayward, Elaine (Frank) Horn and 1 brother, Jeffrey (April) Sauer, Thorp, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins.

There are no events planned as he did not wish to have any services. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later time.
