Hiles, Wallace (30 August 1940 – 25 May 1980)

Wallace Hiles, 39, of Rt. 2 Granton, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Hospital on Sunday morning, May 25. Death was due to a heart attack.

Hiles was born on August 30, 1940, in Marshfield. In 1958, he graduated from Granton High School and then lived on a Town of Grant farm. At the time of his death he was employed by Hiles Brothers Construction.

The deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anita Hiles; two brothers, Walter of Granton and James of Aurora, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ramona) Davidson of Adams, Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Cattanach of Granton, Mrs. Tilman (Marcia) Erickson of Milwaukee, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Fuhr of Homewood, Ill., and Mrs. Paul (Gloria) Spaete of Madison. He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 27, from Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton with the Rev. Maynard Stokka officiating. Music for the service was offered by JoAnn Grassman and Martin Hillert. Pallbearers were David Hillert, Darwin Canfield, Gary and Ernest Sternitzky, Ewald Schlinsog and Orville Garbisch. Burial was made in the Town of Grant cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home of Granton was in charge of arrangements.
