The Withee Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses was the afternoon, April 12, site for the wedding of Cheryl Marie Haas and Terry Allen Berger. Erwin starting officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Haas of Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Berger of Neillsville. The father of the bride presented her to her new husband.

Serving as maid of honor was Tina Uhlig, a friend of the bride from Dorchester. She was joined in the party by Coleen Berger, the groom’s sister from Neillsville and Danyl Haas, a junior bridesmaid and sister of the bride from Thorp. Serving as bestman was Bryon Berger, the groom’s brother from Neillsville. He was joined by Frank Haas, the bride’s brother from Thorp. Ushering were Kenny McCleod of Eau Claire, Edward Johnson of Milwaukee and Harley Cammers of Owen, all friends of the couple. Ringbearer and flower girl were Matthew Haas of Thorp and Kathy Berger, the couple’s sister and brother.

The bride was attired in a white gown featuring long, colonial sleeves, high collar and matching lace train, hat and veil, She carried a bouquet of yellow and white long-stem carnations, baby’s breath and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids wore gowns of maize organza over acetate and featuring a ruffled bottom, bustle and neckline. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.

The groom chose a white tuxedo while the groomsmen and ushers were attired in brown and white tuxedos.

Tonnie Uhlig, offered piano selections, “Hand In Hand,” “Shulamite Maiden” and “Loyal Love” for the service.

Following the double ring ceremony, a reception and dance was held at Owen’s meadow View Country Club. The couple left on a short trip to upper Michigan. They will make their home on Rt. 2 Granton.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and was employed as a clerk by the Thorp IGA. The groom, a graduate of Neillsville High School, is a dairy animal nutritional consultant.
