Domine, Ronald (8 May 1935 – 18 November 2021) With Flag

Ronald R. “Ronnie” Domine, 86, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully at Marshfield Medical Center on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Ronald Raymond Domine was born on May 8, 1935, in Neillsville, the son of Manuial W. “Stub” and Helen I. (Strey) Domine. In his early years, he lived in Osseo and Milwaukee until his family moved to Loyal in 1947. He attended Loyal High School from 1949-1952. Following high school, Ron enlisted into the U.S. Navy until he received an honorable medical discharge. He then lived in Milwaukee and worked at Central Steel & Wire, operating a 100-ton crane from 1953-1954. He moved to Janesville, where he worked at the Chevrolet Assembly Plant from 1954-1958. On February 17, 1955, Ron was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Rothamer at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. After living in Janesville, Ron and Shirley moved back to Loyal, where he worked at the Tony Zupanc Ford Garage doing body work from 1958-1960. He then opened his own body shop, Domine Body Shop from 1960-1972 where he was also the Arctic Cat dealer. In 1972, Ron purchased the Chevrolet dealership in Loyal and it became Domine Chevrolet. He owned the dealership until the year 2000, when he then sold it to his two sons, Randy and Brian. During his retirement, Ron and Shirley lived in many different places. They lived on Lake Holcombe, Sun City West in Arizona, Lake DuBay and finally residing in Marshfield.

He enjoyed boating, traveling, motorcycling, golfing, following Nascar, going out to breakfast, spending time with grandchildren and family, and telling his life stories about the “good ole days.”

He was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church while living in Loyal and a member of Our Lady of Peace while in Marshfield. He was also a member of the Loyal Lions Club.

Ron will be dearly missed by his wife, Shirley, of Marshfield; his children: Randy (Shelley) Domine of Marshfield, Mike (Dawn) Domine of Avondale, AZ, Kevin (Lisa) Domine of Wausau, Shelby (Todd) Schoonover of Wausau, Brian (Karrie) Domine of Phoenix, AZ and Steve (Angie) Domine of Marshfield; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one sister: Barbara Dux of Marshfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Dustin and Holly Domine; one sister, Shirley Shefchik, and one brother, Robert Domine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Leo Stanislaus will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Domine, Chad Domine, Skylar Domine, Will Domine, Max Gillette, Tyler Jasurda and Jared Boyle. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
