After a wedding trip to Canada, the new Mr. and Mrs. James Ehlers will make their home in Altoona. The couple were married in afternoon ceremonies, Saturday, April 19, at the United Church of Christ of Neillsville. The bride was Cindy Becker, the daughter of Terry and Joyce Becker, Rt. 3 Neillsville and the groom is the son of Leona Ehlers, Rt. 1 Neillsville.

The Rev. Gary Clark officiated at the ceremonies with the father of the bride presenting her to the altar. Leslie Oswald and Lee Kuechenmeister offered musical selections, including “Today” and “Color My World.”

Maid of honor was Mabel Doherty a friend of the couple from River Falls. She was joined in the bride’s party by Tammy Becker, sister of the bride from Neillsville, and Louise Anderson, a friend of the bride from Roseville, Minnesota. The bride was attired in a satin gown, trimmed in German lace and featuring a similar lace veil and train. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, white starburst mums and button mums. The bridesmaids wore blue, polyester gowns with matching print capes and carried bouquets of star burst and button mums and blue carnations.

Tom Pagenkopf, a friend of the groom from Neillsville, was the bestman. He was joined by David Bieneck, a cousin of the groom from St. Paul, Mn., and Michael Hemp, a friend from Arpin. Ushering were Tyler Urban and Scott Elmhorst, friends from Neillsville. The groom and groomsmen were attired in dark blue, velvet-trimmed tuxedos.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Wildcat Inn and dance followed at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. Prenuptial evens included a shower hosted by Tammy Becker and Thelma Schmitz.

The bride is a graduate of District I Technical Institute, Eau Claire, and is employed as an executive assistant to the vice president for finance of WEAQ radio in Eau Claire. The groom, a Neillsville High graduate, is employed by the Eau Claire Construction Company.
