News: Thorp - Conways Presents Gift to the City (1974)

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Conway have presented the city of Thorp with one-half interest in property located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The property has an appraised value of $240,000, which included a building being leased by a clothing store chain. Conway stipulated that income from the property be used exclusively for library purposes.

Conway made the presentation to the Thorp City Council in the form of a letter stating, “Mrs. Conway and I are glad to do this for the city of Thorp, where our hearts will always be.”

Mayor Frank Wadzinski and city council members have adopted a resolution accepting the gift.
