Van Gorden, Cadet Pvt. William (Service Notes - 1980)

First place in the Best Drilled Squad Competition conducted in mid-December at St. John’s Military Academy, Delafield, was awarded to a Neillsville student’s company.

Members of the crack squad include Cadet Pvt. William Van Gorden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Van Gorden, 100 Grand Ave., Neillsville. He joined four other cadets hailing from Madison, Milwaukee, Dearborn, Michigan, and Puebla, Mexico.

The competition involved twelve squads at the 96-year-old military, college preparatory academy.
