City Hall Moving to Division Street Location (2021)

Neillsville City Hall will have a change in location very soon.

City Hall offices will open Monday, Nov. 1, at the building at 106 W. Division St., what used to be BMO Harris Bank. The mayor, city clerk, recreation department and public works department will all have offices at the new location. The police department is the only entity that will remain at the Fifth Street Location.

“Please be patient as we have 135 years of records to move and reassemble in some sense of order,” a printed notice from the city of Neillsville read.

City Clerk Rex Roehl said Oct. 22 that the city had already been in the process of moving items for the past couple weeks.

The phone numbers for all departments and the city hall operational hours will remain the same. People should remember to mail bills to the new address.

The city is having technology installed to allow for the cable broadcasting of city meetings in the new location. Technicians were scheduled to come in this week. However, it will take some time to get the new equipment set up and organized.

“At this time we cannot guarantee the cable broadcasting of council meetings, the 2022 budget hearing, etc. Please make plans to attend events in person until we have all the details worked out as best, we can,” the notice read.

The 2022 budget hearing will take place Nov. 9 at 7:15 p.m. Any citizen or taxpayer may comment on the proposed budget at that time.
