Rycerz, Anna (21 May 1891 – 20 Sep 1973)

Rites were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp for Mrs. Anna Rycerz, 82, of route 3, Marshfield, who died Thursday morning at the Marshfield Convalescent Center following a lingering illness.

The former Anna Piekarz was born May 21, 1891 in Poland, and was married there to Martin Rycerz, who preceded her in death May 3, 1949.

The couple came to the United States in 1910 and settled in the Thorp area, where they had resided for many years.

She was a member of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and its Rosary Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leander Fold, route 3, Marshfield, and Mrs. Adam Czerwinski, Wausau; two sons, Walter Rycerz, Wausau and Adolph Rycerz, Thorp; a brother, Stanley Piekarz, Gary, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter and a son in infancy.

Pallbearers were: Robert Rycerz, John Rycerz, Allan Rycerz, Roger Rycerz, Raymond Czerwinski and Donald Czerwinski, all grandsons.
