Smith, Anna K. (1 January 1893 – 12 December 1979)

Funeral services were held on the early Friday afternoon, December 13, for Mrs. Anna K. Smith, 86, of Rt. 1 Chili. The Rev. William Noble of the Granton and Neillsville United Methodist Churches officiated in Granton’s Gilbertson Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Nasonville Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday, December 12, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 1, 1893, in Adams County to Frank and Barbara (Metcalfe) Kucera. On February 22, 1918, she married Arleigh K. Smith in Adams County ceremonies. The couple farmed there until 1938 when they moved to a farm in the Town of Lynn where they resided the rest of their lives. She was a member of the Pittsville American legion Auxiliary.

Surviving her is one son, Warren, Rt. 1 Chili, two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Evadene) Menke of Granton and Mrs. William (Anna) Hahn of Chili, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. And preceding her in death, besides her husband, was one son, Louie, three brothers and one sister.

Music was provided by Mrs. Roger Helm and Mrs. Horst Augustin. Serving as pallbearers were Garth Barth, Lawrence Behling, Norbert Kleinschmidt, Vernon Gilbertson, Louie Menke and Freddie Hahn.
