Szczesniak, Stanley (29 Apr 1918 – 13 Aug 1973)

Stanley Szczesniak of route 1, Withee died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at 9:30 p.m. Monday, August 13, 1973 at the age of 55. He had been admitted to the hospital August 6.

Rites were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin, with the Reverend Casimir Paul, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Szczesniak was born April 29, 1918 in the town of Roosevelt (Taylor Co.), and received his education there. His marriage on May 1, 1943, at Chicago, was to the former Evelyn Pribbernow, who survives him.

From 1943 until 1963 he farmed in the town of Roosevelt. He then retired from farming and moved to Withee and worked for the Frederick Post Company of Owen and the Wick Building System of Spencer. For the past year he was employed as a nursing aide for the Clark County Hospital at Owen.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council here and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Lublin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Sally) Habets, Conrad, Montana, and Mrs. Richard (Joanne) Goessel, Withee; his mother, Mrs. Antonia Szczesniak, Withee; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Jean) Klinger, Chicago; five brothers, Max, Twin Lakes, Savery, Withee, Steve, Chicago, Victor, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and Walter, Milwaukee; and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a son and a brother.
