Pflieger, Kathy (11 August 1979)

The Neillsville United Church of Christ was the August 11 afternoon site for the wedding of Kathy Pflieger of rural Greenwood and Howard Mathis of Neillsville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pflieger, rural Hatley, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edison Mathis, Rt. 1 Neillsville.

With the Rev. Gary Clark officiating, the father of the bride presented her to the altar. She chose an ivory, floor-length gown, featuring an empire waist, scooped neck, all accented by daisy lace satin. She carried a bouquet of silk daisies, roses and baby’s breath.

Carol Oryszczyn was maid of honor. She was attired in a sea green, floor-length blouson dress of Quiana knit. Her bouquet was similar to the bride’s.

Charlie Hagedorn was best man. Ushering were Mark Pflieger, a brother of the bride, and Richard Wagner.

Readers at the service included Sylvia Mathis, a sister of the groom, and Tom Pflieger, a brother of the bride. Music was offered by Jill Pflieger, Marie Stanley and Deon Spangler.

Following a reception in the church social rooms, the couple left on a trip to Door County. The bride’s education includes D.C. Everest High School in Schofield and UW-Whitewater. She is an Early Childhood Teacher in the Greenwood-Loyal School Systems. The groom is a Neillsville High School graduate and is a farmer.

Prenuptial events for the couple included a shower hosted by Loy Neff and Carol Oryszczyn, sisters-in-law of the bride.
