Oelhafen, James H. (24 March 1931 – 28 August 2021)

James H. Oelhafen, age 90, of Marshfield, passed away early Saturday morning, August 28, 2021, at Wells Nature View in Marshfield.

Jim was born on March 24, 1931, to the late Norman and Alma (Rader) Oelhafen in Milwaukee. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1948. He was united in marriage on June 17, 1994, to the love of his life Marian Erickson at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

He started his career working for American Motors Corporation as a general foreman. He eventually moved central Wisconsin where he owned and operated North Mound Tavern and Supper Club in Willard, WI. Jim would go on to work for Clark County Forestry and Parks Department as a foreman where he retired from, prior to moving to Marshfield. During his retirement he enjoyed working part time for ODC in Marshfield.

Jim was a member of several organizations throughout his life including, Lannon Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club and Willard Athletic Club (in which he helped organize and design the Willard Ball Park). He also always looked forward to hunting with his boys and the Opelt Gang.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, listening to polka music and was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all Jim enjoyed the ball games and watching the other activities his grandchildren participated in. In retirement Jim and Marian enjoyed camping and traveling. Those that knew Jim best will miss his kindness, sense of humor and his love for his family.

Jim is lovingly survived by his wife: Marian Erickson-Oelhafen; his three boys: Daniel J. (Joanne) Oelhafen of Granton, Scott E. (Debra) Oelhafen of New Lenox, IL and Clinton R. (Amber) Oelhafen of Marathon; his stepchildren: Eric Erickson of Marshfield, and Tara (Steve) Bartsch of Kaukauna; beloved grandchildren: Sara (Jessie) Marsh, Stacy (Jamie) Petit, Nathan (Tiffany) Tytor, Valarie (Jeff) Degan, Lisa Oelhafen, Lori (Pete) Nguyen, Alexander J. Oelhafen, Macie L. Oelhafen, Emma Bartsch, Anna (Dylan) Bartsch; and great grandchildren: Blake Oelhafen, Parker and Grace Nguyen. He is further survived by his three sisters: Beverly (Joe) Hetzel, Audrey (Al) Weiland and Kathleen Addie. He will truly be missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; as well as siblings: Earl Oelhafen, Mildred Vogt and Marion Bartelt.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield, with visitation held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Burial will take place at a later date
