Kutsche, Raymond E. (22 March 1896 - 1979)

A former Clark County Sheriff and Neillsville Police Chief passed away in the Neillsville Memorial Hospital at the above of 83. Mr. Raymond E. Kutsche, a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home since July of 1978 and formerly of 110 East Ninth St.

Funeral services were to be held on Monday morning from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery and the Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kutsche was born in Green Bay on March 22, 1896, to Carl and Katherine (Schmidt) Kutsche. After receiving his early education in that area, he moved with his parents to the Town of Lynn in Clark County. On October 11, 1922, he married Hattie Liskow in Neillsville ceremonies.

The couple farmed in the Town of Levis until 1936 when he was elected Clark County Undersheriff. During the next 24 years as Neillsville Police Chief. He retired from active duty in 1967. Prior to his moving to the Memorial Home, Kutsche worked as school crossing guard in Neillsville at the corner of Hewett and Fourth Streets.

Kutsche is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Vada) Meske of Marshfield and Mrs. Edward (Ruth) Rychnovsky of Neillsville, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was one brother, Walter.

Kutsche was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Clark County Law Enforcement association.

Kutsche, Raymond E. (22 March 1896 - 1979)

Funeral services for Raymond E. Kutsche, 83, were held on April 16, from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. Norman Lindloff officiating, with burial in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Kutsche, a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home for the past year, served eight years as undersheriff, fourteen as sheriff of Clark County and two years as Neillsville Police Chief.

Surviving him is his wife, the former Hattie Liskow, among other relatives.

“The 23rd Psalm” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” were musical selections, offered by Linda Krehmeyer and JoAnn Moeller.

Serving as pallbearers for the morning services were David Bertz, David Sarafin, Dale Schultz, Arden Hinklemann and John Kaitschuck. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
