Bombach, Edward D. (11 May 1919 - 12 April 1979) With Flag

Edward D. Bomback, 59, of Rt. 1 Willard, died April 12 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. He was born May 11, 1919, in Willard to Mr. and Mrs. Matt (Mary) Bomback and attended the Rocky Run School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from December 28, 1942, to December 31, 1945.

He married Irene Severson on May 24, 1943, in Neillsville. After their marriage, the couple lived in Greenwood and later for a short time in Milwaukee. They returned to Willard in 1954 and he farmed and worked in cheese factories, retiring in 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Two sons, Edward D. Bomback of Milwaukee, and Garry Bomback at home, two daughters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Joanne) Binder of Marshfield, and Audrey Bomback of Milwaukee, three sisters, Mrs. Angie Gould of Cleveland, Oh., Mrs. Viola Cercek of Mentor, Oh., Mrs. Vera Robert of Loyal, three brothers Matt, Jr., of Owen, Eugene of Aurora, Ill., Elmer of Willard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph, and his parents.

Funeral services, with full military rites by the Loyal American Legion post No. 175 for the member of the Disabled Veterans Group, were held Monday, April 16, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Sam Kochel officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Ulesich, Frank Celar, Ralph Landini, Edward Dergance and Duane and Dennis Trunkel. The Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.
