A former Town of Weston farmwife, Mrs. August (Clara A.) Beyer, died in a Wisconsin Rapids hospital on Sunday, March 25, at the age of 80. She was born on May 4, 1898, to August and Bertha (Nemitz) Meihack. Clara received her education in the area of her birth, the Town of Weston. On June 3, 1917, she married August C. Beyer in Weston ceremonies and the couple farmed in that area for 40 years. In 1957, the couple moved to Neillsville and in 1976 they moved to Wisconsin Rapids.

Surviving besides her husband is one son, Elmer Beyer, Wisconsin Rapids; one sister Mrs. Mildred Beyer, Milwaukee; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was one daughter, Florence; three sisters, Sarah, Margaret and Emma; and one brother, Anton.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday, March 28, from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe with the Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiating. Burial was to be made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Beyer was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid group. The Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville was in charge of arrangements.
