Peissig, Diane (9 Sep 1972)

The Holy Rosary Church in Owen was the setting for the wedding of Miss Diane Peissig and the late William Peissig to Roy Elquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Elquist of Sister Bay. The Rev. George Becker officiated at the 3:30 p.m. ceremony performed on Saturday, September 8, 1972. Servers at the wedding mass were the bride’s nephews, Bruce and Brian Peissig.

Robert Beyer sang and played the guitar as the bride escorted by her brother, Duane Peissig approached the altar wearing a floor length gown of white satin with organza overlay in A-line styling. Her princess veil cascaded from a Camelot headpiece and she carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums.

Mrs. Trudy Jischke, Oshkosh, was the matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mrs. Fay Elliott and Miss Barbara Winnekens, both of Oshkosh, and Lois Wuethrich, Greenwood.

Serving as best man was Thomas Lindal of Bailey’s Harbor, and completing the wedding party were Charles Elliott, Oshkosh, James Anderson, Sister Bay and Donald Cole, Green Bay, who were groomsmen. Joseph Boxrucker and Robert Jischke, Oshkosh ushered the guests to their seats.

A 5 p.m. dinner was served at the Quonset Hall at Thorp, followed by a reception and dance.

The bride is a 1968 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and the Madison Academy of Cosmetology, and has been employed at the Al Addins Styling Salon in Oshkosh. Her husband is a 1968 graduate of Gibraltar High School and is presently attending the UW-Oshkosh, majoring in sociology. He will graduate in December.

The couple is making their home at 2020 Wisconsin Street, Apt. 210 at Oshkosh.
