The 1947 class of Dorchester High School had a reunion Sunday night, September 3, 1972 in Dorchester Municipal Hall, marking the 25th anniversary of their graduation. The affair began with a cocktail hour at 7 p.m., followed by an eight o’clock dinner. Honored guests were Bill Carnahan, Ashland, and Mrs. Lloyd Sorenson, Dorchester, both former teachers. Jerome Ludwig served as master of ceremonies.

Members of the class and their spouse who attended the event were: Mr. and Mrs. Leander Mayr, Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Skibbe (Verda Miller), Iowa City, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Becker (Estelle Stelzel, St. Louis Park, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Mohan, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Beck (Bernice Wilke), Stevens Point; both members of the class; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Harder (Doris Sailor), Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Ludwig (Dora Genrich), both members of the class; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Peissig (Margaret Geiger) and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lueddecke, Dorchester.

A memoriam was read for two deceased members, Eugene Zaborowski and Marcella Leonard. Letters from absent members and teachers were read.

Prizes were awarded to: Leander Mayr, coming farthest distance; Archie Mohan, having youngest child; Estelle Becker, having the oldest car; James Beck, most grandchildren (4); Doris Harder, largest family (10); and biggest waistline, Jerome Ludwig.

The committee in charge of the arrangements was: Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig, Mrs. Peissig, and Mrs. Louis Boxrucker (Hilda Wilke). Mrs. Boxrucker, however, was not able to be present. It was planned to have another reunion in five years and to have it the second weekend in July.
