Asplin, Florence (20 March 1901 - 4 September 1978)

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Florence Asplin, 77, on September 7, from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral home in Neillsville. She passed away three days earlier. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Lloyd Brotherton acted as clergyman and Mrs. Harold Brockhaus sang “Alone With God,” “Only Remembered,” and “When Life is Ended.”

Pallbearers, all grandchildren, included Richard Beyer, Harold Sackett, Charles Suchow, Robert Beyer, Clifford Sackett, Douglas A. Asplin, Douglas G. Asplin, Harold Walker, Jr., Roger Asplin, and Louis Sackett. ‘

Attending the services were all ten of Mrs. Asplin’s children: Lawrence and Emily Dissmore, Eau Claire, plus many friends.

Asplin, Florence (20 March 1901 - 1978)

Services for Mrs. Florence Asplin, 77, of Black River Falls, who died Sunday, Nov. 3, at her home, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Lloyd Brotherton, Black River Falls, is in charge of services. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home and Thursday until time of services.

The former Florence Gerhardt was born Mrch 20, 1901 in Clark County where she received her education. On April 27, 1921, she was married to Charles L. Asplin at Greenwood. They farmed in Neillsville and Tioga areas. Her husband died in 1943 at which time she moved to Neillsville and worked at various jobs in the area.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Lila) Sackett of Black River Falls, Mrs. Robert (Florence) Beyer of Shawano, Mrs. Harold (Velda) Walker of Osseo, Mrs. William (Lorraine) Neulieb of Moorhead, Minn., Mrs. Ellis (Betty) Winkel of Laurel, Mont., Mrs. James (Lois) Wick of Green River, Wyo., and Mrs. Wendell (Jean) Suckow of Marquette, Mich.; three sons, Hubert of Moorhead, Minn., William of Canton, Ohio, and Donald of Middleton; three sisters, Arlene Gerhardt of Hatfield, Mrs. Inas Jung of Fort Atkinsons, and Mrs. Walter (Frieda) Zank of Fairchild; one brother, Bert Gerhardt of Milwaukee; 49 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers and one granddaughter.
