Steiger, Ensign Keith (Service Notes - 1978)
Graduating recently from the U.S. Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport,
R.I., is ensign Keith Steiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Steiger, 25 Clay St.,
Neillsville. A graduate of UW-Eau Claire in physics and mathematics, the new
officer is presently attending a naval damage control school in Philadelphia.
After further training at a naval surface warfare school, back in Newport, Ens.
Steiger will serve aboard the USS Iwo Jima. Mr. and Mrs. Steiger and daugher,
Debra, attended Keith’s graduation and commissioning ceremonies and heard Rear
Admiral Joseph Metcalf address the class of 184 men and women.
