Landwehr, Dawn Ellen (3 Jun 1972)

Emmanuel Lutheran Church in March Rapids was the setting for the marriage of Dawn Ellen Landwehr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Landwehr, Stratford, to Roy Alan Ploeckelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ploeckelman of Stetsonville.

The Rev. Walter Koepsell officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony on June 3, 1972. Solosits were Mrs. James Korth and Mrs. Richard Korth, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Edna Kloehn.

The bride appeared in a white floor length gown of nylon sheer with schiffli embroidery, which featured Camelot sleeves and modified waist. The gathered skirt flowed into a chapel sweep train of shiffli embroidery.

The three tiered floor length veil cascaded from a Camelot headpiece featuring pearl trim. She carried a Colonial bouquet of yellow and orange roses, baby’s breath and stephanotis with white ribbons.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Nancy Landwehr of Marshfield. Bridesmaid was Miss Linda Serocki, also of Marshfield. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Rennel Martens, Edgar, cousin of the bride, and Miss Susan Landwehr, Stratford, the bride’s sister. Miss Sandra Landwehr of Stratford, the bride’s sister, was miniature bridesmaid.

Aqua, apricot, Nile green and maize were the colors of the gowns worn by the bride’s attendants. The bodices were of white bubble chiffon with floral embroidery trim at the waist and neckline. Each carried tinted carnations to match her dress and white roses in nosegays with colored ribbons.

The dress worn by the miniature bridesmaid was styled like the bride’s. Miss Landwehr wore multi-colored pixie carnations in her hair and carried the same bouquet as the bride.

James Ploeckelman, Stetsonville, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Terrance Landwehr, Stratford, brother of the bride, and Steven and David Ploeckelman, Stetsonville, brother of the bridegroom.

Ring bearer was Randal Kolberg, Burnside, Minn., and ushers were Ardell Landwehr, brother of the bride, and William Ploeckelman, brother of the groom, both of Stratford.

A wedding dinner was held in the church basement, and a reception and dance at the Trianon Ballroom.

The bride is a 1970 graduate of Stratford High School and is a nurse assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. The bridegroom is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School and is engaged in farming.

A kitchen shower was given for the bride by Nancy Landwehr and Linda Serocki of Marshfield and a miscellaneous shower dance was given by the bridal party. The 2NE PM employees gave the bride a surprise shower.

The couple is at home at Route 1, Stratford after a honeymoon trip to the Eastern and Southeastern states.
