Miss Jean Helfert, St. Paul and Michael Ericson, aso of St. Paul, were united in marriage Friday, June 9, 1972 at a 6:30 p.m. ceremony performed at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. The Rev. Gerald Schuh officiated at the double ring ceremony. A guitar soloist, Mary Lu Probst, St. Paul, provided the music.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Nick Helfert, Dorchester and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ericson of St. Paul.

The bride, who was escorted down the aisle by her parents, wore a full length A-shaped gown of silk organza with val lace. The empire bodice was fashioned with a high neckline and long semi-bishop sleeves. The gown was highlighted by a floor length matching mantilla with val lace. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses and pink carnations with ivy.

Maid of honor was the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Connie Ericson of St. Paul. Bridesmaid was Miss Mary Helfert, Dorchester, sister of the bride.

Their dresses were turquoise organza over taffeta with flower embroidered on the bodice. Both wore a circle of daisies in their hair and carried baskets of white and yellow daisies with baby’s breath.

Bill Vilendrer, St. Croix Beach, Minn., was the best man and Terry Pearson of Coon Rapids, Minn. Was groomsman. Serving as ushers were Richard Ericson, St. Paul and Tom Ericson of Faribault, Minn.

A dinner and dance were held at the Memorial Hall in Dorchester.

The bride is a 1970 graduate of Colby High School and is employed as a secretary for the Pillsbury Co. of Minneapolis.
