Miss Kathleen Marie Kunick, Madison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kunick of Colby, became the bride of Ronald LaVerne Sonju, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sonju, Bloomington, Minn., in a ceremony held June 3, 1972 in Madison.

The Rev. Robert G. Borgwardt, senior pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Mrs. Margaret Cooper, Madison, a harpist, played during the entire wedding. Selections included “Prayer”, “Wedding March” and “Love Song,” from Romeo and Juliet.

A sister of the groom, Miss Helen Sonju, Minneapolis, was maid of honor, and serving as best man was John Kunick, Madison, brother of the bride. Ushers were Douglas Kunick, brother of the bride. Jim Kunick served as acolyte during the ceremony.

The bride received B.S. degrees in Home Economics and Early Education at Stout State and UW-Madison. She was affiliated with Phi Gamma Delta, National Education Association for Young Children, and on the state board for NEAYC. She is presently a day care teacher with Child Development Inc. at Madison.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Lincoln High School, Bloomington, Minnesota, attended Northwestern Institute University of Minnesota and is a member of the Naval Air Reserve. He is affiliated with Epsilon Phi Tay and I.E.E.E. at Stout State University at Menomonie, where he is a student. He is presently a vocational instructor at St. Paul Vocational with the Manpower Program.
