Red Roses and lilies of the valley with satin streamers forming a Colonial
bouquet were carried by Miss Barbara Ann LaShay of Dorchester for her marriage
to Calvin Henry Sheen, also of Dorchester. Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at
the 3 p.m. ceremony performed in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Dorchester on
June 3, 1972.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. David LaShay Sr., 303 N. Second
Street, and Mr. and Mrs. Galen Steen of Route 1, Dorchester.
For her marriage the bride wore a white lace gown with an empire waistline and
skirt of white silk organza over taffeta. The puffed sleeves featured wide lace
cuffs. The veil was attached to the headpiece and fell into a long train.
Matron of honor was Marge LaShay of Wausau, and bridesmaids were Debbie Gilles,
Medford and Sharyl Steen of Dorchester. Flower girl was Holly LaShay of Menasha.
The bridal attendants wore identical dresses of baby blue silk organza over
taffeta. The gowns were floor length, flocked with blue and green flowers. The
flower girl wore a white silk organza and taffeta dress and carried flowers
identical to the bride.
Serving the groom as best man was Darrell Steen. Groomsmen were David LaShay and
Tom LaShay. David Zimmerlee was the ring bearer.
A reception and supper for 200 guests at Memorial Hall followed the ceremony.
The bride is a 1971 graduate of Medford High School and is employed by the
Tombstone Pizza Corp.
The bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of Abbotsford High School and a 1971 graduate
of North Central Tech, and is presently employed as a truck driver.
After a wedding trip
to southern Wisconsin, the couple will be at home at 129 Perkins, Medford.
