Brinkmeier, Oscar S. (17 April 1900 – 1 February 1978)

Funeral services for Oscar S. Brinkmeier, were held February 4, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Pearl City, Ill. Burial was in the church cemetery. Death, February 1, was due to a coronary embolism after surgery performed January 24, at Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Ill.

He was born on April 17, 1900. In 1921, he married Amanda Kortner of Shannon, Ill., and the family moved to the Town of Sherwood in Clark County in 1932. Oscar was chairman of that township for several years. In 1949, they returned to Illinois, moving to Apple River where their daughter, Mrs. Robert James, resides. Mr. Brinkmeier purchased a repair shop and worked until a stroke in 1968 left him confined to a wheelchair until his death. Oscar became a resident of the Continental Manor Nursing Home at Lena in 1974.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Glenn. Survivors are his daughter, Irene, a sister, Mrs. Fred (Luetta) Koeller; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
