Ackerman, Cecelia (23 August 1919 – 21 February 1978)

The wife of a Pine Valley Township leader and county board member and herself a long-time cook at several area restaurants, passed away after a lingering illness, Tuesday, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Cecelia Ackerman was born August 23, 1919, to Ferdinand and Catherin (Aumann) Hrach in the Town of Weston. She was educated in the Neillsville area and then worked in the Delavan area for several years. After her marriage to Arthur, June 26, 1935, in Neillsville, she worked for the Badger Inn and at a greenhouse for several years. She was last employed by the Neillsville A&W and had been a cook there for many years.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Anderegg, Loyal; one sister, Mrs. R. E. (Margaret) Hansen, Milwaukee; two brothers, Lawrence Hrach, Neillsville, and Francis Hrach, Madison; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur (Cecelia) Ackerman, 65, Rt. 2 Neillsville, were scheduled for Friday, 1:30 p.m., from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The body was to lie in state at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday morning and then for one hour prior to services at the church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff is to officiate, with burial to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
