Barager, Barbara Jean (4 Oct 1976)

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tweedale, newlyweds of October 4, 1976, will make their home at 7205 Old Sauk Road, Madison, Wisconsin, following a wedding trip throughout the northeastern states.

The former Barbara Jean Barager, daughter of Mrs. J. R. Barager and the recently deceased James R. Barager, was given in marriage by her brother, Capt. James Vernon, to Dennis Gordon Tweedale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tweedale, Hayward, ruing a 4:30 p.m. ceremony at St. Francis Episcopal Church, Madison. Performing the nuptial ceremony was the Rev. Arthur Lloyd, pastor of St. Francis.

Mr. William Mueller was the organist, who rendered Bach’s “Fugue in B. Minor: for the prelude. Purcele’s “Trumpet Tune in D Major” as the processional. For the interlude he played Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and for the Postlude Muler’s “Carillon Sortie.”

For her special day, the bride selected an ivory polyester knit halter top with shawl gown fashioned with an A-line skirt, the front of which was designed with a floral pattern of sea mist blue and lavender. The back of the shawl also had the floral design. She carried two white roses surrounded by baby’s breath and streamers.

Miss Jean Barager, Green Bay, was maid of honor for her sister. Her floor length gown of polyester knit was sea mist blue, matching the bit of color in the bride’s gown. The halter top was fashioned with a draped scarf attached to the back, and she carried one white rose, baby breath and streamers.

Performing the duties of best man was Mark Tweedale, brother of the groom from Green Bay. Dennis Brescoll, Madison, friend of the groom, and Jack Barager, brother of the bride, seated thee guests for the ceremony.

The groom was seen in a total ivory tux with vest and ruffled shirt. The best man and ushers wore ivory coats, with brown velvet vests, ruffled shirts, and dark trousers. All boutonnieres were white roses.

The wedding reception took place at Tripp Commons Dining Hall at the Wisconsin Union overlooking Lake Mendota immediately following the ceremony, to which 125 guests attended.

The new Mrs. Tweedale graduated in 1967 from the Owen-Withee High School, Owen, and in 1972 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, receiving her degree in Nursing. She is employed by the City of Madison as Public Health Nurse.

Mr. Tweedale graduated from the Sturgeon Bay High School and University of Wisconsin, Madison in Business Administration. He is employed as Risk Manager for the City of Madison.

Relatives attending the wedding include Col. (retired) and Mrs. Howard M. Russell, Deal, New Jersey, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Wood, Eau Claire, Mrs. John L. Salo, North Little Rock, Arkansas, John Barager, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Wittenberg, Onalaska, Mrs. W.F. Berg, Capt. And Mrs. James V. Barager, Bobby and Jill, Appalachian, New York, Mr. ad Mrs. Steven berg, Mr. and Mrs. David Berg, Beaver Dam, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Aaeron, Doug and David of Randolph, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Byom and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wociek, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Tweedale, Green Bay, Bill Tweedale, Milwaukee, Dennis’s sister Mary and daughter of Rudolph, his sister Barb and husband of Milwaukee, and his mother of Hayward.

Also other friends known here were Judge and Mrs. Lowell Schoengarth of Neillsville, and daughter Barbara, student at Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence DeCramer, Sun Prairie, and Shirley Kelley, Owen
