Anderson, Gretchen (8 February 1899 – 1 November 1977)

Mrs. Gretchen Anderson of the Neillsville Memorial Home died Tuesday, November 1, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating, and burial was made in the Dells Dam Cemetery.

Born February 8, 1899, in Watertown, South Dakota, to William and Winford Raether Horton. Mrs. Anderson was educated in South Dakota. She was married to Harry A. Anderson on January 14, 1918, in Neillsville. Following their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Levis. Mrs. Anderson was a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home for the past five years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Wilbur, Neillsville, five grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965.
